Joel Osteen (December-31-2024) Daily Devotional:
Today’s Topic: Flooded with Light
Today’s Scripture
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. – Ephesians 1:18, NLT
Today’s Word
The apostle Paul knew that our minds would try to talk us out of the awesome future that God has planned for us. He knew that we would get passive and let disappointments, setbacks, and delays cause us to quit believing and to settle where we are. That’s why he prayed that our hearts would be flooded with light. To be flooded means to be overwhelmed. We are not to be overwhelmed with doubt, with trouble, with problems.
No, we’re to be flooded with light, flooded with hope, flooded with faith, flooded with expectancy. In this coming year, God has moments of favor that you’re going to come into that are going to catapult you ahead. He has things in your future that you can’t imagine right now. My question is, Are you expecting a favor-filled year? Are you anticipating great things? Are the eyes of your heart flooded with light, or have they become dim? Ask God to flood your heart with light so you can say, like David, “I am confident I will see the goodness of God.”
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for the new year that is right in front of me. I ask You to flood my heart with light, with hope, and with faith for great things. I am fully confident that I will see Your goodness in my life this year in ways that I’ve never imagined. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: You may be where David was, things have come against you in your health, your finances, your children. You’re tired of fighting. It seems like you’re stuck. God is saying to you what He said to David. He’s about to supercharge your life. He’s about to do something out of the ordinary. He’s not going to let you stay stuck. One version of this passage says, “He fills your life with good things.”
Something good is coming, something unexpected. The reason it’s taking longer is it’s going to be better than you think, it’s going to be more rewarding. When you see what God is up to, it’s going to breathe new life into your spirit. New passion for what’s in front of you. You’re going to feel stronger, more passionate, with greater vision.
